About Me

Greg Slagel is an animation writer, producer, and artist who brings a 360 degree approach to each of his animated projects thanks to his strong foundation in animation production. After studying 3D Animation at UT-Dallas Greg quickly rose up the ranks from animation PA to Producer as he helped build EXPLOSM, the studio behind “Cyanide and Happiness”, one of the largest web comics in the world. After that he moved to ROOSTERTEETH PRODUCTIONS, where he was a producer on the 2D series “Nomad of Nowhere”, “RWBY CHIBI’’ a CHIBI version of the hit 3D animated web series RWBY, as well as “Red vs Blue” a comedic parody of the HALO games. After working on such a wide variety of projects totaling over one billion views as a Producer, Greg decided he wanted to tell his own stories and so he took what he learned and made the leap from Texas to Los Angeles! Greg brings multiple perspectives to each of his projects. His experience as a producer keeps him focused and goal oriented as he pushes each project to be the best it can be. Growing up in the south and midwest, Greg has an “outside the bubble” perspective that helps him build characters and worlds with universal appeal. And as a ‘gay geek’ Greg brings a strong LGBTQ+ voice with a focus on diversity and representation to the fantastical worlds he continues to create in comics, film, and novels.
